Kieran has been ‘sporty’ his whole life, starting with football at a young age and eventually jumping on a bike in 2012. After four weeks of cycling, Kieran entered his first race. Whilst it was far from a winning result, it gave him the bug and it wasn’t long before he started finding his feet, with two wins in his first five races.

Joining VC Meudon, his local bike club where he learned the ropes and etiquette of cycling, he then joined Cycleworks RT in 2014. In 2015, he was hit by a car and sustained a few nasty injuries, but bounced back and in to racing before taking a jump in to the track side of cycling.

Kieran spent a couple of years on the Blackline track sprint team before making a comeback to road, track and ‘endurance’ track in 2018 with TAAP Cervelo. Earning his 2nd cat back quite quickly (6 weeks….you don’t earn points in track sprint), the next season bought his best win to-date, stage 2 of the Tour of Totnes, with three bike lengths to spare between him and Ex-World Tour rider, Marcin Bialoblocki. That season he was also part of the team pursuit team that broke the track record at Herne Hill velodrome.

Off the bike, Kieran is a Lv2 British Cycling Coach and has been coaching a variety of riders since 2018. From young, aspiring future pros to those looking to satisfy their competitive craving whilst balancing work and life.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Kieran joined a group of regional coaches to support British Cycling by providing mentorship to the U16 boys road and track riders. This was mainly virtually, facilitating 1:1 and group feedback loops that would ensure the boys continued to progress but ultimately continue to enjoy the sport and feel supported in a somewhat closed off world. As well as cycle coaching, Kieran is also a qualified fitness instructor, mental performance coach and specialist in heart rate variability. His coaching philosophy is holistic in nature, taking a view of all aspects that can influence a riders training, as what happens off the bike effects what happens on the bike and vice-versa. He is both analytical and approachable and enjoys watching his riders progress, whilst learning more about themselves along the way.
