Charlie began his racing back in 2015 for Cycling Club Ashwell, having previously been a successful long distance runner. In his first season of racing he achieved his 1st Category license and won the Eastern Region Road Race League overall. This was enough to get him a ride on elite amateur team; Spirit Tifosi for the 2016 season. In his first year he achieved 15 top 10’s in road races leading to achieving his elite racing license. The following year he held the king of the mountain’s jersey in the Tour of the North in Ireland. During his time at the team he has raced across the UK in the premier calendar events, as well as across Europe in Belgium and France, Czech Republic and Greece.

Charlie was originally a coached rider of Ride Revolution, but his keen interest in the science behind the coaching lead to a coaching mentorship, culminating in his appointment as a fully fledged coach in 2020. Charlie achieved a first-class degree in Math’s from the University of Birmingham in 2019 and likes to use his analytical skills in his coaching approach.

He has also achieved his Level 2 British Cycling coaching qualification and Level 1 British Triathlon coaching qualification, so will be available for both our cycling and multisport coaching packages.

Before his cycling days, Charlie was an experienced Triathlete/Duathlete competing across the UK and in multiple national championships. As well as this he achieved a 2nd place in the world under 20 duathlon championships in Spain back in 2014.
