Global Coaching with Ride Revolution
How our coaching is structured
Ride Revolution is one of the UK’s leading cycling coaching organisations, working with a wide range of athletes — from committed amateurs to elite competitors — across multiple disciplines.
Over time, we’ve learned that international athletes tend to value clarity, structure, and appropriate levels of involvement, rather than one-size-fits-all coaching. To reflect that, our global coaching packages are built around levels of responsibility and involvement, not rigid feature lists.
Each package below represents a different depth of coaching input:
- from structured training delivery
- to broader performance and race decision-making
- to direct coaching with our principal coach
Rather than offering every service to every athlete, we’ve deliberately selected package structures — and coach allocation — from within our established UK setup to best suit the type of international athletes we typically work with. This allows us to deliver high-quality coaching consistently, while ensuring expectations are clear from the outset.
All coaching is delivered within the Ride Revolution system, with optional performance tools and additional services integrated where appropriate.
Package 1: Performance Coaching – From $225
Structured, intelligent coaching for cyclists who want to improve properly.
Performance Coaching is built around high-quality cycle training delivered with clarity, consistency, and professional judgement. It’s designed for riders who want to train well, progress steadily, and feel confident that their training makes sense.
At this level, the focus is on how you train: building fitness, managing load, and developing the foundations that underpin performance. Training is reviewed regularly and adjusted as you go, responding to how you’re actually performing and recovering rather than following a rigid template.
This package suits both racers and non-racers who value structure, accountability, and thoughtful coaching. Wider performance topics may naturally come up as part of the conversation, but the core of this package is cycle coaching done properly, without unnecessary complexity.
What this typically includes:
- Structured weekly cycle training built around your goals and availability
- Regular review and adjustment of training based on performance and recovery
- Ongoing coach feedback focused on execution, consistency, and progression
- Directional advice on wider performance factors where relevant

Package 2: Performance + Race Intelligence – From $300
Coaching that extends beyond training into performance and execution.
Performance + Race Intelligence builds on structured training and expands the coaching relationship into decision-making, planning, and performance context. This is for riders who don’t just want to be fitter — they want to perform better when it matters.
At this level, coaching input goes beyond sessions and numbers. Preparation becomes more specific, conversations become more strategic, and support reflects the realities of racing, competition, and high-level performance. Training remains central, but it sits within a broader understanding of tactics, timing, and execution.
This package is particularly well suited to racers, but also appeals to ambitious cyclists who want to think more clearly about how fitness, fatigue, preparation, and judgement come together in real-world performance.
What this typically includes:
- All elements of Foundation coaching
- More proactive discussion around events, racing, and performance priorities
- Support with planning, preparation, and execution
- Coaching shaped by competitive context, not just training metrics
Package 3: Principal Coach Programme – From $450
Strategic coaching with Ride Revolution’s principal coach
The Principal Coach Programme is designed for athletes who want direct access to experience, judgement, and strategic oversight — not just training guidance.
This programme is delivered personally by Jake Hales and reflects a different level of coaching involvement. Rather than focusing solely on weekly training delivery, it centres on decision-making, prioritisation, and long-term performance direction, shaped by years of working with high-level athletes across a range of disciplines.
At this level, coaching is less about volume and more about clarity. Planning is done with context. Trade-offs are considered deliberately. Performance decisions are made with an understanding of both ambition and reality. The relationship is high-trust, collaborative, and shaped around the bigger picture rather than individual sessions alone.
This programme is intentionally limited in capacity. It’s suited to athletes who value perspective as much as prescription, and who want a principal coach involved in shaping how and why they train — not just what appears on the calendar.
What this typically includes:
- Direct coaching with Jake Hales, Principal Coach
- High-level planning and performance oversight
- Strategic input on priorities, trade-offs, and long-term direction
- A closer working relationship focused on clarity and leadership
Availability is limited.

Package 4: Bespoke Performance Projects
(Application only)
Targeted support for specific goals, events, or performance challenges.
Bespoke Performance Projects are designed for situations that don’t fit neatly into monthly coaching. This might include short-term race preparation, event-specific planning, advisory work, or targeted performance support for teams or individuals.
These projects are scoped individually and delivered where there is a clear performance objective and a defined period of work. They sit outside standard coaching packages and are offered selectively, based on suitability and availability.
Pricing and structure are agreed on application.
Strength, conditioning, and nutrition
Cycle training never exists in isolation. Where relevant, coaching conversations may naturally touch on wider performance considerations such as strength work, fuelling, and recovery — particularly as they relate to training load, performance, and consistency.
These areas are considered as part of the coaching process, but are not managed on an ongoing, week-to-week basis unless explicitly agreed. For athletes who want structured, ongoing support in these areas, additional tools or services can be integrated separately where they add clear value.
A final note on scope and flexibility
All Ride Revolution coaching is delivered with professional judgement rather than rigid checklists. The level of responsibility and involvement increases across packages, while optional performance tools and additional services can be integrated where appropriate to any of the packages.
